RSVP for jumping at SkyZone, Bootcamp, and a Walk with the Mayor

Start R.I.G.H.T. Participants have really been stepping up their game this week with 1656 total hours of activity so far. We have Hunter Industrial Park neighborhood at the head of the pack with the Eastside neighborhood not far behind. With one month left in the challenge, it’s still anyone’s game.

Coming up this week we have a group jump at Sky Zone in Riverside and Tai Chi in Doty park.

SkyZone will not be free. We will be attending during their “Happy Hour” which is half price. It will be $7.50 per person per hour plus $3.00 to purchase special socks.

This past Saturday, several participants and their families ventured out into the California Citrus State Historic Park for a one-hour walk. It might not sound like much, but check out our stats from the walk!

Since the beginning of this year’s Start R.I.G.H.T. Challenge, participants have completed nearly 1,000 hours of activity. This includes walks up Mt. Rubidoux, boot camp, Zumba class and more.

This Saturday, March 5 Start Right Participants and their families are invited to take a walk through the California Citrus State National Park at 9:00 a.m. 9400 Dufferin Ave, Riverside, CA 92504 (map

Did you know walking for just 40 minutes can burn as many as 400 calories and help keep your heart healthy?

RSVP today and join us!

The park will also be offering a “Taste and Tour” at 10:30 which includes a tour of the museum, a walk through the citrus groves and a tasting of the different citrus they grow.

It’s $5.00 per car so invite friends/family and drive together. The tasting is included in the $5.00 parking fee.

This week marks the beginning of week 2 of the Start R.I.G.H.T. Challenge. We have a couple of free workout events this week and even more coming this month. Be sure to check Upcoming Events for a full calendar.

Last update and weigh out dates!

We’re in the last week of the challenge and up to 1,915 hours of logged activity. That’s 191 hours logged in the past week, almost twice as much as last week!

Arlington has passed Downtown for the lead.

But it’s not over yet!

It will be over this Saturday, June 13th. Weigh outs will be at the Grow Riverside Conference at the Farmer’s Market at the Convention Center (map). If you cannot make it to the weigh out on Saturday, you can weight out at one of the following classes:

Zumba @ La Sierra Wednesday, June 10th at 5:00 p.m.
Zumba @ Bordwell Park Thursday, June 11th at 6:15 p.m.
Zumba @ Hunt Park Thursday, June 11th at 7:15 p.m.

We will also be offering weigh-outs at the Riverside Community Health Foundation office (map) on Thursday, June 11th and Friday, June 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Keep logging those activities. This is the last stretch. You can do it.

We’re in the 11th week of the challenge and up to 1,672 hours of logged activity. That’s 72 hours logged in the past week! You guys have really been pushing it.

Downtown remains steady on top.

La Sierra Hills worked hard to move closer to the top.

Don’t forget to log any activity from this Memorial Day Weekend.

It can be hard to get yourself to the gym and not everyone can afford a personal trainer. Here are 13 free apps that are better than a gym membership. The workouts range from 7-minute workouts to full body workouts. Most of the workouts can be done at home. Remember, a little bit can go a long way.
